Located inside the Visitor Orientation Centre at Fort
Malden National Historic Site, is a unique shop that focuses on
the military and social history of the early 19th century. Several book
titles are carried on subjects including The War of 1812, Rebellion of
1837-38, Native History, Local History¸ Pioneers, children's
interests, clothing and costume, cooking, gardening and music.
Not only do we carry film, postcards and souvenirs but also available
are Hand-painted miniature soldiers for the collector. Make your own music
with a fife, tin whistle or jaw harp – with fingering charts and
selected songs to help you master the instrument. Beautiful prints, perhaps
framed for a retirement gift.
For the children or grandchildren, an excellent selection of books and
hand toys including ball and cup, wooden muskets and pistols, wooden tops,
Jacob's Ladders, costumed teddy bears, dolls and much more.
