Windsor & District Highland Dancers Association and Fort Malden National Historic Site invite you to join us for an exciting day of Highland Dancing. The competition will run throughout the day; a variety of activities are planned. Please call the site for more details. Admission applies.

Want to fire a cannon? Come to Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada for a blast to the past.

       Canada Day

Thursday, July 1, 2010 

Join Fort Malden and the community of Amherstburg to celebrate our country's 142nd birthday on July 1st. Children’s games, crafts and activities make this day a perfect family outing.  Music, dancing, and black powder demonstrations will lead up to a wonderful fireworks display at dusk. Free admission all day!

 


       Military Heritage Days

Saturday and Sunday, July 31 & August 1, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

 

Kick off the long weekend with a bang as you explore 2000 years of military life! Enjoy tactical demonstrations, military bands and exploring the encampments. Fun filled children's activities and heritage merchants will be on site to add to the festivities. Site admission applies.

       Art by the River

Saturday and Sunday, August 28 & 29, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The Fort Malden Guild of Arts and Fort Malden National Historic Site will host over 150 arts and crafts exhibitors on the fort grounds overlooking the Detroit River. Join us for entertainment and refreshments as the Guild celebrates the 42nd anniversary of its art show. Admission applies.

 


      Shores of Erie International Wine Festival

September 9, 10, 11 & 12, 2010

The festival combines the perfect blend of regional wines, fine cuisine, and an eclectic mix of live entertainment. Stroll the magnificent, waterfront grounds of one of Canada's most important military sites.  Experience how Fort Malden helped defend the Western Great Lakes against American invasion through guided tours and other activities. Special event hours and admission rates apply

 


      Halloween Ghost Tours

Presented by the Friends of Fort Malden

 

Friday & Saturday, October 22 & 23 and Friday & Saturday, October 29 & 30, 2010 (Weather Permitting)

 

Tours leave from the Visitor Orientation Centre every 15 minutes from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

 

Tickets go on sale starting at 6:00 PM each evening.

 

Admission is $3.00 per person.
